DESCRIPCIÓN
MasterClass de 2 horas para el día a día del abogado que quiere aprender terminología jurídica relacionado con The Law of Tort.
OBJETIVOS
El objeto de este curso es adquirir la terminología jurídica y mejorar la comprensión lectora y auditiva en el ámbito del inglés jurídico. En estas clases utilizaremos dos ‘case studies’ más famosos en Law of Tort y ‘listenings’ que representan situaciones entre un abogado y un cliente. Igualmente, se reforzarán las habilidades de comunicación oral discutiendo ‘case studies’ que mencioné antes.
PROGRAMA
1. Introduction to the Law of Tort
2. Types of Tort (E.g. Negligence, trespass to land, nuisance etc.) and key vocabulary related to each type of tort
3. Tort of Negligence – How is negligence established by lawyers in common law systems? What is the duty of care and how to decide if it has been breached? What is the chain of causation and how to check if it has been broken?
4. Tortious liability vs. vicarious liability vs. strict liability
5. A discussion around 2 famous cases in English Law
